Thomasville Medical Associates, Chair City Family Practice/MedZone and Thomasville Medical Center (TMC) were recently presented certificates of appreciation for their assistance with residents who were relocated to the area due to the 2005 hurricane season.
The awards were presented by Amy Stroud, Director of Program and Services for the High Point Thomasville Chapter of the American Red Cross, at the Annual Emergency Services Recognition Breakfast.
TMC Staff and physicians saw patients in need of medical care and medication assistance who found themselves without prescriptions or medical records of any kind due to the abrupt leaving of their homes when deadly hurricanes hit both Louisiana and Mississippi. The practices and hospital worked closely with the High Point Thomasville Chapter of the American Red Cross to assist the patients with needed medical care, diagnostic testing and provided these services at no charge.
Only one other medical practice located in High Point received recognition for such assistance.
