Novant Health Thomasville Medical Center's Pulmonary Rehabilitation program is an education and
exercise program designed to help individuals who have lung disease or serious breathing
difficulties get back to the life and the activities they enjoy.
People with the following conditions may benefit from participating in pulmonary
rehabilitation:
- Shortness of breath
- Asthma
- Chronic bronchitis
- Emphysema
- Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)
- Pulmonary fibrosis
- Other respiratory diseases.
The program includes supervised exercise instruction, functional training for daily life
activities, energy conservation tips and techniques, breathing retraining, stress
management and medication education.
