Volunteers of all ages and backgrounds help provide needed services at Novant Health Thomasville
Medical Center to help us in meeting the healthcare needs of those we serve.

Volunteers serve in many departments within Thomasville Medical Center and we are always looking for grateful patients and other community or
corporate members who are interested in donating their gift of time and talent to
help improve the quality of care we provide. Your generous support helps improve
our facility.
Volunteers perform these services, and others:
- Visit patients to assist with non-medical needs and offer emotional support
- Serve as reception and information clerks
- Assist visitors and patients with directions
- Transport patients/visitors.
Volunteen/Junior Volunteers
For teens ages 13-18, our Volunteen program offers an opportunity to serve during
the summer. Teens are trained and supervised by the community relations manager.
We are looking for students who can make a dependable commitment of one shift per
week, three- or four-hours long, for the entire program. There are no evening or
weekend shifts available. Students who are interested in serving in a healthcare
setting and who feel they can meet our expectations are invited to apply.
College students also donate their time during the school year and summer by serving
in a variety of departments where they can observe the delivery of healthcare services
to patients and families.
Applying
Each volunteer completes an application, orientation, and a health screening; then, training in the designated area before s/he begins to volunteer.
